2.06Mbps is not too bad. although in term of speed it depends on how do you connect your internet. That means: are you connecting through cable to your ADSL modem or by wireless? connection by cable should be faster. Also the length of your cable makes a slight different too (anything below 1.5m cable should be fine) 2nd it is depend on how far your phone line from the swith exchange. The closer your house to the exchange, the faster it should be. 3rd, this is largely dependant upon how good the quality of your phone lines wires etc. You can start querying your ISP (Tiscali) by some time they might say, if they cant find anything wrong at their end, they will charge you for the cost of getting someone to check the exchange. But in experience, 2Mbps is fast enough for browsing and youtubing. Though your upload speed is slow. (This tends to be different to different ISP and/or plan). Hope this helps

Does anyone know how I can tell if my slow broadband connection is down to my pc or my broadband provider (Tiscali)? I ran a speed test here http://www.broadband-expert.co.uk/broadband/speedtest/ and it tells me I have a download speed of 2.06Mbs and an upload speed of 243 Kbps. My laptop a dell Inspiron 8600, is about 3-4 years old some and I have Windows and is running Windows 2000.

Any or advice help would be greatly appreciated!
